How productive are you?
by Marlou on Mar 6, 2024 10:38:25 AM
Recent research done by Proof shows that a whopping 31% of respondents are less productive at home. Fortunately, this is also offset by a growing group of productive people (30%)! But, apart from the current crisis, technology plays an important role in employee productivity. Wondering in what way? Find out here!
Not worth the money
What does your (home-based) IT-system look like? Do you use different applications interchangeably? Is there a need for another system, but do you find technology not worth the money or time? Or are you actually quite satisfied? The latter is good! At least for productivity and employee satisfaction. Because in many cases, severely outdated or faulty technology is quite demotivating and frustrating for employees. In addition, it is not a good look for when you onboard new talent either.
One digital entry point
Did you know that productivity is especially sparked when employees feel comfortable and confident? It is therefore very important to give them the opportunity to easily share feedback and information with each other in a transparent way.
Within Plek, for example, we do this by means of everyone working on the same platform. We don't send each other e-mails, but use specific groups to share relevant information. For example, we post improvements in our "client success group," post important company news in "team updates" and share relevant documents in the "sales or marketing group". We give each other visible feedback, but for quick questions we use individual chat
Don't underestimate collaboration!
Yet, a central platform is not enough. Did you know that productivity is also boosted considerably if employees are given the space to collaborate and be innovative in the process?
Technology can therefore be a very useful tool. For example, to teach employees specific skills, or to make information easier to find. Or how about leave requests, the minutes of the last team meeting, explaining printer settings or sharing company protocols. Bundling this information together will save you and your colleagues a lot of time! And in this way you keep employees on board, and hook up new employees more easily. The result: a productive and satisfied workforce! And that's what everyone wants, right?
